FiberProtect is an optional service that provides comprehensive coverage for any accidental damage or wear and tear to the fiber optic cable and equipment within your home. With this policy, you can rest assured that any necessary repairs or replacements will be handled promptly and without additional costs.
For an added monthly fee of $8, you can enroll in the FiberProtect plan, protecting your fiber optic connection against unexpected incidents. If you choose not to enroll, you may be responsible for paying repair fees in the event of damage to your home fiber optic cable and equipment caused by issues on the customer end (see examples below).
Here are some examples of incidents or damages that would be covered under the FiberProtect plan:
1. Accidental severing or cutting of the fiber optic cable within your premises due to home renovations, or other construction activities.
2. Damage to the fiber optic equipment (such as the Optical Network Terminal or router) caused by accidental spills, drops, or power surges.
3. Wear and tear of the fiber optic cable or equipment over time, leading to signal degradation or complete failure.
4. Damage caused by pets chewing or scratching the fiber optic cable or equipment.
5. Vandalism or theft of fiber optic equipment located within your premises.
6. Damage to the fiber optic cable or equipment due to extreme weather conditions, such as high winds or falling tree branches on your property (excluding natural disasters like hurricanes or tornadoes – this is already dealt with by default).
By enrolling in FiberProtect, you can safeguard your investment and ensure uninterrupted access to our high-speed fiber optic internet service. Our team of skilled technicians will promptly address any covered issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring a seamless experience. Please note that FiberProtect does not cover damage resulting from intentional acts, natural disasters, or other events beyond our control. However, it does provide comprehensive protection against accidental damage and wear and tear, giving you peace of mind and added value.
Note: MDU properties such as Kenna Homes, Parkland and Southmoor are fiber to the building and copper to the router, but are still covered under this protection.
